Questions, simply answered
What does Baali Samhita actually do?
A reading drawn from your birth chart and addressed to you, written across four traditional instruments: jyotish (the chart), vastu (the spatial layout of your home), raag (sound prescribed against your chart), and charya (small daily disciplines). The reading reaches your inbox within forty-eight hours. You may write back once within thirty days for clarification.
Is this really free?
Yes. There is no payment requested or accepted at any point. No upsell, no premium reading, no advertising on the site. The founder supports the project from other work, as an act of giving back to a tradition that has shaped his own life. If this ever changes, it will be told to you openly.
How accurate does my birth time need to be?
As accurate as you can find. A birth certificate or hospital record is best. If you have only an approximate time from family memory, write what is closest — we will note the uncertainty in your reading and read it accordingly. The rising sign (lagna) is stable within roughly forty-five minutes either way, so even imprecise times give a useful reading. Times accurate to the minute give a more precise one.
Why don't you usually recommend gemstones?
Two reasons. Gemstones in Vedic astrology require careful in-person rectification — wearing the wrong stone for your chart can amplify what is already strong rather than strengthening what is weak, and the results show up in the body and in the life, slowly. They are also the most common vehicle for the fear-mongering this site exists against: wear this or face misfortune is not what the tradition asks. The remedies recommended in your reading are routine-based, directional, and sound-based — supportive of any chart, and without risk.
Will you predict when I'll get married, buy a house, or change jobs?
No. Baali Samhita does not give event timing or specific predictions. The tradition contains timing methods — dasha periods, planetary transits — and these are mentioned in your reading where they are relevant: "you are in the closing phase of a seven-year cycle, with the next eighteen-year period beginning in July 2027." But a specific date for a specific event is not promised, because the chart describes a shape, not a script.
What if I cannot follow all the discipline rules in your reading?
Pick three. The reading is comprehensive on purpose — it contains daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal practices — but it is not a contract. The floor is what is called Baali Nitya Dharma, six universal practices that appear in every reading. Beyond that, you choose what fits your life. Three sustained for a year do more than thirty attempted for a week.
Can I submit on behalf of someone else?
Yes, if they have given their consent and you have their exact birth details. The reading is written for the person whose chart it is, in their voice — please share it with them rather than translating it. Readings are not written for anyone below the age of sixteen.
What happens to my birth details after the reading is sent?
Your details are used to generate your reading and nothing else. They are not sold, shared, or used for marketing. Personal data is retained for two years (to cover your thirty-day follow-up window and the possibility of a future fresh reading) and then deleted. You may request deletion at any time by writing to hello@baalisamhita.com. The full privacy policy is at /privacy.
How is this different from other astrology websites?
Three ways. It is free — no consultation fee, no upsell, no advertising. It does not trade in fear — no language of dosha, no warnings of misfortune, no predictions of harm. And the reading is composed across four classical instruments rather than one, so the recommendations are concrete and livable rather than abstract.
Can I have a phone or video consultation instead?
The site does not offer scheduled calls. The reading and any follow-up are written, by deliberate choice — written communication forces clarity in both the question and the answer, and it is what makes the project sustainable as a free offering. In rare cases the founder may offer a short call at his own initiative; these are never requested and never advertised.
How long until I can request another reading?
A minimum of six months between fresh readings, and twelve to eighteen months is recommended. Charts do not change, but planetary periods (dasha) and transits do. A reading taken too soon repeats what is already known; one taken at the right time captures the new ground.
